Bond Hold Terms

Terms explaining bond hold authorisation, when it may be captured, and when it will be released.

Security Deposit (Bond Hold)

A security deposit of [AMOUNT] will be authorised (held) on your payment card at the time of [BOOKING/PICKUP]. This is not a charge. Funds remain in your account but are unavailable for other purchases.

The bond hold may be captured (charged) if:
• The vehicle is returned with damage beyond normal wear and tear
• The vehicle requires excessive cleaning (smoking, pet hair, excessive mess)
• Traffic violations (parking tickets, tolls) are incurred during the rental
• The vehicle is returned late without prior arrangement
• Items are missing (keys, equipment, accessories)

If no issues are found on return, the bond hold will be released immediately after inspection. Funds typically become available in your account within 1-3 business days after release.

If issues are found, we will:
1. Contact you within 24-48 hours of return with photos and details
2. Provide a repair quote or invoice for the charge
3. Give you [7-14] days to review and respond
4. Capture the bond hold (or a portion) only after you have had opportunity to review

Evidence of any charges will be provided, including photos, invoices, and communication records.
